  • Sept. 11, 2007 - Gov. Gregoire takes a tour of U. S. 2 in east Snohomish County; meets with the U. S. 2 Safety Coalition Board in Sultan (Photo) and with 60-70 Sky Valley community members and legislators in Monroe (Photo)
  • Sept. 18, 2007 - "Grim Reaper" roadside demonstration - House Transportation Committee members meet in Monroe, then travel via bus to eastern Washington, but they are "stopped" by a group of Gold Bar citizens decrying the carnage on U. S. 2. House Transportation Committee Chair Judy Clibborn stated March 18, 2008 (during the official sign and corridor ceremony) that the "surpise" $10 million in funding for safety iimprovements began with that citizen demonstration.   • Oct 8, 2007 - Gov. Chris Gregoire designates U. S. 2 (from Everett to Stevens Pass) a Washington Traffic Safety Corridor
  • Dec. 10, 2007 - Angie Ward of Washington State's Traffic Safety Commission (Safety Corridor Program) gives a slideshow presentation (see link below) to the U. S. 2 Safety Coalition.   • March 18, 2008 - Offical U. S. 2 Designation as a Traffic Safety Corridor. Ceremony held at Sultan's Gazebo next to U. S. 2; unveiling of offical corridor safety sign. (See "NEWS" page for news articles on this event.)
