18, 2007 - "Grim Reaper" roadside demonstration - House
Transportation Committee members meet in Monroe, then travel via bus
to eastern Washington, but they are "stopped" by a group
of Gold Bar citizens decrying the carnage on U. S. 2. House Transportation
Committee Chair Judy Clibborn stated March 18, 2008 (during the official
sign and corridor ceremony) that the "surpise" $10 million
in funding for safety iimprovements began with that citizen demonstration.
